Support For Summer Study in Tajikistan

It is difficult even for me to believe it's been  two years since I started studying Farsi (Persian). This new language has been by turns an exhilarating and frustrating experience, but the best news of all has finally given me fresh wings.
I was accepted for the Summer Farsi Language Program.  It takes place in Tajikistan (the only country other than Iran or Afghanistan where it is spoken).  It is sponsored through the American Councils for International Education. http://www.aceurasiaabroad.org/about   Can't tell you how thrilled I was!  Just this quarter I learned the University of Washington will extend the Persian language program to a three- and possibly to a four-year program. This means my goal of translating works from Farsi to English looks more achievable than ever.
Why is this important, you might ask.  It seems to me the better we understand a foreign country's language and culture, the more likely we'll have peaceful relations with that country. That's why I studied Russian and that's what we need in the Middle East now more than ever.

The opportunity for really improving my language skills this summer is within sight.  Unfortunately there are no scholarships or grants available now.  Since I've been studying and cutting back on work,  my funds are very limited.

So I'm asking  friends and well wishers to help me take advantage of this opportunity. I set up a Summer Study Tuition fund to help me pay for tuition, housing & airfare ($7,500) .  Program dates are from June 2 to August 5.
Please give what you can.  You can use the PayPal link below or you can send a check direct to my apartment at 12048 32nd Ave NE, unit 104, Seattle, WA 98125.  Any help will be hugely appreciated.

I'll be updating my blog on related subjects.  After I arrive in Tajikistan, once part of the Soviet Union and once part of the Persian Empire,  I'll keep you up on my experiences and post photos.
Thanks for your interest and support.  Feel free to pass this on to folks who may be interested.
